This painting is a vignette of the life of a sea turtle (honu). It's the start of a long journey.
 
I'm obsessive about detail and it shows in this painting. Every detail from the sand to the bubbles to the honu was all hand painted. I painted the details life-sized to push the illusion that you can reach into the painting and pick up one of these little guys.
